How to Enter Cisco Router WEB GUI?
The most commonly used IP to enter the Cisco WEB GUI is 192.168.1.1. Open a web browser, as shown in the image below.
When the page opens, you’ll need to write your router’s username and password.

Changing Cisco WiFi Password
If your neighbors are using your internet without even asking for permission, you can always put an end to this by simply changing your router’s WiFi password. Periodically changing the password of your wireless connection is significant for your security.
How to Change Cisco WiFi Password?
- Log into the router
- Click “Wireless Settings”
- SSID is your WiFi name. You can change the name of your router from here.
- SSID Password is your WiFi password. You can change your password from here.
- Your password should have 8 characters.
- Click “Save” after changing your password.
After changing your Cisco WiFi password, your router will restart. To connect the router, you’ll need to enter your new password on your devices, such as PC or mobile.

How do I find the IP address of my Cisco router?
192.168.1.1 may not be your router’s IP address. To learn your router’s default IP address, you can refer to the label on the bottom of your modem or, if available, the modem’s user manual. If you don’t have either of those, you can try the following steps and learn your router’s default IP address.
The most used IP addresses by Cisco routers;
- 192.168.1.1
- 10.0.0.1
- 192.168.1.254
- 192.168.0.1
In Windows: Type “cmd” in the search bar and click “Command Prompt.” Now, type “ipconfig” and press enter. You’ll see your router’s WEB GUI password next to “Default Gateway.” In the example image below; “Default Gateway . . . . . : 192.168.1.1 is the IP address.
In MacBook: Type “route -n get default” in Terminal. You’ll see your router’s WEB GUI IP address next to “Gateway.”
How to Reset Cisco Router?
You’ll need your GUI password to change the WiFi password. If you have already changed your Cisco router’s WEB GUI password and don’t remember that password, you’ll need to reset your router.
Attention: After the reset, your router will restore factory settings. All passwords and configurations you have set will be gone. Your internet connection will drop and you’ll need to reconfigure the router.
Cisco router Hard Factory Reset
Important: Your Cisco router should be plugged in and working, and its lights must be on.
- Find the reset button behind your Cisco router.
- Use a pin or another sharp-pointed object (like a pen or toothpick) to press and hold on to the reset button for about 10-15 seconds.
- Your router’s lights will flash.
- Wait until all of your Cisco router’s lights are on.
- Congrats! You successfully reset your Cisco router.
