The address bars of browsers (Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera) are also used by search engines (Google, Yandex, Bing). When you type 192.168 to enter the router settings page, you’ll see different IP suggestions. And these suggestions will lead you to the results page rather than the GUI. You’ll need to type the correct IP address ignoring the suggestions and without misspellings.

192.168.1.254 may not be your router’s IP address. To learn your router’s default IP address, you can refer to the label on the bottom of your modem or, if available, the modem’s user manual. If you don’t have either of those, you can try the following steps and learn your router’s default IP address.
In Windows: Type “cmd” in the search bar and click “Command Prompt.” Now, type “ipconfig” and press enter. The IP address next to “Default Gateway” is the interface login IP address of your modem. In the example image below; “Default Gateway . . . . . : 192.168.1.254 is the IP address.
In MacBook: Type “route -n get default” in Terminal. You’ll see your router’s WEB GUI IP address next to “Gateway.”
